CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION BY DR. ARUNA BROOTA

For many, the main goal in life is to pursue a career that is meaningful, fulfilling and resolving your career issues. However, can be a difficult process. Many students are clueless and confused about the decision related to their career. This problem is basically faced by students who are going are going to initiate their college life after 12th. After important milestones in education, each one of us faces this question ‘what next’ after class 12th. Career counseling can help in all the major milestones in one’s career. Career counseling or work counseling is sought when an individual needs confidential support and advice about areas of study and possible career movements, developments or changes. It provides an opportunity for people to discuss and discover opportunities in their career plans. Career counselors work with a wide range of individuals with all kinds of skills, passions, values and career motivations to help them better understand their thoughts and feelings about work and education and how these can be resolved.

Choosing the right stream has a long-lasting impact on a student’s future. It has been often noticed student start hating their subject after some time or quit their subject midway or start feeling frustrated about the wrong move or decision. The decision they once took out of peer pressure or parental pressure or due to lack of knowledge now becomes the burden of their life. Hence, it is very important for any student to choose the stream carefully for better career prospects in future.

IMS Ghaziabad organized a Career Counselling Session of Dr. Aruna Broota, who is a Psychologist, Hypnotherapist, and Alchemist. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director IMSUC, Dr. Pooja Rastogi, Dean IMSUC and faculty members. The students from various colleges of Delhi NCR got the golden opportunities to learn from the experience and counseling skills of Dr. Aruna Broota and to shape their future in a right path.

The session was started with honoring the National Anthem and afterward along with our guest Dr. Aruna Broota all the dignitaries took the blessings of Goddess Saraswati to have a fruitful session ahead. The Director of IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus Dr. Sapna Rakesh addressed the young crowd in the Auditorium. She mentioned the common hurdles which are faced by the coming future of our country in deciding their career ahead. She also took the initiative to welcome our guest Dr. Aruna Broota with her brief introduction.

Dr. Aruna Broota acknowledged the young students of class 12th with her counseling skills. She created a healthy and friendly environment for the young ones to interact with them in a better and fruitful way. She mentioned the importance of analyzing our interests and asked the crowd to focus on the various important aspects of choosing a career ahead.

Stress is an important feature of the lives of students and can impact negatively on learning. The motive of the session was also to reduce the mental stress which is commonly faced by today’s generation under the pressure of exams. She told the students to perform few activities to reduce the level of stress.

She mentioned that any course pursued by the student should be by choice based on their interest and not by force of the parents or any other people. She motivated the students and asked them to follow some basic tips to have a healthy educational life. She, as a counselor knew the basic problems faced by the students due to exam pressure, hence, she also explained specific body postures which help the students to grab maximum knowledge rather than just cramming the course books provided to them for studying.

The session was not a one-way communication but to make it more interactive and to give an effective solution to an individual’s problem, the students also got chance to ask their queries to the guest of the day. This made the session more fruitful as well as successful.

After the motivating session Dr. Sapna Rakesh, DIrector IMSUC presented the token of respect to our honorable guest of the day, Dr. Aruna Broota, a well experienced and motivating counselor for her motivational words delivered to the coming future gathered from various corners of Delhi NCR in IMS, University courses campus, Ghaziabad.

It was a pleasure to see all the active participants of various schools of NCR be a part of enthralling sessions delivered by Dr. Aruna Broota at IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus. Counselling has always been important for the students to find the right career of what courses to take and of capabilities match interests. It is indeed no doubt that the counseling session will boost the morale of the students by understanding the kind of requirements for long-term success and the overall performance.
