College life is one of the most exciting and important phases in anyone’s life. During this period, a student comes across several experiences and learns new things through various events. A college festival is not just for fun, it adds value to a student’s learning experience. In fact, can say that importance of various events in college equals the importance of studies. Keeping this phase of student’s development, IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus organized a 2-day marketing carnival MARKFEST 2017 on 17th and 18th of November 2017.

The fest was hosted by BBA department that created a platform for students from various colleges of Delhi NCR to enhance their skills in marketing. Coordinators, facility members, volunteers invested their lot in efforts to make the fest memorable one. The continuous efforts and kind support of the main sponsor TVS. Food partner – Yours Pizza, Digital partner – EWL team, Gift partner- Customized Gifts and Media partner – DTH made the event worth to enjoy and watch for.

The grand event was inaugurated by a panel of creative and enthusiastic experts in the field of marketing. The chief guests for the day were Mr. Yuvraj Sharma, Regional Field Sales Director, GEODIS and Mr. Sunil Sharma, Brand Activation Head, Dabur India Limited. The panel also included Dr. Sapna Rakesh (Director), Dr. Pooja Rastogi (Dean) and Dr. Geeti Sharma (Chairperson-BBA). The dignitaries took the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and acknowledged the crowd with their experiences and learning in the Auditorium. The icing on the cake was the launching ceremony of first monthly marketing E-magazine VAULT. It was inaugurated with a real vault to make the launch connect with the audience.

The best attraction for the whole event was Business Haat which provided the participants to experience the practicality of dealing with customers. In the 2 days experience of Business Haat participants was given their own space to sell their products or services to the crowd of the grand event. They decorated their stalls with a much effortless love and passion. Being a marketing event the teams were also given slots to market their business idea with their innovative and marketing skills to the crowd of MARKFEST 2107. The young Business Men earned a lot of profit with their remarkable efforts in 2 days of the event. Student’s also enjoyed IMS pavilion, a corner full of fun and enjoyment without the competitive pressure which included RJ Corner, Fun gaming zone, and food court.

Various events were aligned to cover the 2-day journey of MARKFEST 2017. Events starting from Digimania, Close the Deal, Design It, Business Haat, Brain Teazers, Get Set Go provided the participant’s plethora of opportunities to channelize their magnificent minds, to showcase the marketing tactics and business knowledge on the same platform.

The very first event to grab the attention of the audience was Digimania which invited the youth to mark an impression with their innovation on a digital platform. Following Digimania events like Brain Teazers, Design it was lined up on the first day of MARKFEST which made the hours an interesting and competitive one.

18th November, the second day of the MARKFEST invited the crowd to various other competitive events like Brain Teazers, Get Set Go etc. The events were designed to enhance the creative and marketing skills of today’s youth. From events to dream an advertisement, selling of a product, launch an innovative and new product or to become a wild marketer each and every event lined up in MARKFEST acknowledged the hidden skills of the students.

The prize distribution ceremony on day two was conducted in the Auditorium. All the events were judged by professional and experienced guests in the field of marketing. The basic criteria for judgment of various events were creativity, attractiveness, clarity, presence of mind and marketing skills of the participants. IMS Ghaziabad awarded the winners with attractive cash prizes, certificates, trophies. The participants were also motivated by certificates and consolation prizes. Not only the students but also The Best College was also awarded for maximum participation in various events of MARKFEST 2017.

A successful college event means a significant number of participants, a majority of good reviews, an excellent venue, a great judge/moderator, etc., mostly with or maybe without handsome cash awards for the winner. Beyond these factors, success for a college fest can be defined by the quality and the innovative aspect of the events. The volunteers, Coordinators and the whole management department made the event a remarkable memory in IMS Diaries. MARKFEST was a great success as students from various institutes like AKGIM, RKJIT, HRIT amalgamated and joined IMS family with warm hands, and the healthy competition was embossed on the competitive page. Covering all the aspects of a wonderful and memorable festival, IMS Ghaziabad conducted MARKFEST 2017 with a remarkable memory.
