Guest speakers have become an important part of experience for Management students.
They expose students to real corporate world life experiences from their presence in the corporate world. Students get to see the insight and perspective of the guest speaker’s particular field.
One important benefit that is derived from having a guest lecture is the enhancement of the students’ educational experience. They essentially get a glimpse into the everyday life of the speaker, which they can’t get anywhere else. Another added benefit is the link that students get to make between what they learn in their textbooks and what they learn from the experiences of the guest. Research indicates that it helps students build important connections between what they are learning and the real world.
Keeping in mind all these things, The BBA department of IMSUC campus organized a guest lecture on 22nd April 2017. The Guest of honor was Mr.Nilanjan Mukherjee, who is an alumnus of IIM Lucknow and holds 12 years of experience across prominent business groups like Motorola and Tata. Presently, he is associated with Relaxo Footwears as Assistant General Manager-Human Resource (HR).
Mr.Mukherjee had an interaction with students regarding the seven pillars of success in corporate and simply asked students to relearn the first 7 Alphabets of English Language in reverse and revised manner. According to Mr.Mukherjee, seven Pillars for success in corporate are GFEDCBA:

A Stands for Action – If an individual’s goal is determined, he is focused towards his goal, he is emotionally stable, he is disciplined and has a fabulous character, he also believes in his strengths then it’s the right time to put his plan and efforts in action.
Mr.Nilanjan Mukherjee explained all these seven pillars by sharing examples from his personal as well as from his professional life also. After explaining seven pillars, Mr.Mukherjee had an open house discussion with students where he interacted with them and welcomed all types of questions asked by the students. Mr.Mukherjee asked everyone to always stay determined. In the end, Mr.Mukherjee was honored by the HOD of BBA department Dr.Geeti Sharma for being there and enhancing the knowledge of students.
