At IMS, Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus), the impetus is on holistic development of the students and for that the Institute aims at providing maximum learning exposure to them. Keeping the same focus BBA 2014-17 Batch students got one more splendid opportunity to  be a part of  Industrial Visit in Moserbaer India Ltd on April 24, 2017. The main perspective of organising any industry visit is to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

Moser Baer India Limited is a leading global tech-manufacturing company. Established in 1983, the company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of Optical Storage media like CDs and DVDs.It produces 2 to 3 million of CDs an DVDs per day, every 5th disc manufacure globally belongs to Moserbaer and it is the lowest cost optical media manufacturer in the worldwith presence over 100 countries, serviced through 15 marketing offices and legislature in India, US, Europe, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, Argentina, Chile, Malaysia and has strong tie-ups with many global technology players in the optical media storage business.

Mr. Sudhanshu Pathak, DM – Training and Development (Factory Operations Manager) gave presentation related to the history of Moser Baer and its operations and production to the students. He also gave the deep knowledge about the journey of Moserbaer from 1985 to 2017 In the year 1985 first disk of 8.0’’/5.25’’ disks were produced, In 1987 production of3.5’’ disk, from 1991 to 1998 expansion of FD capacity, 1999  production of CDR/RW, 2002backward integration (packaging of Jewell Boxes), in 2002 Greater Noida Plant was awarded the worlds largest optical disk production site, in 2002 production of DVDR/RW was started, in the year 2006 Moserbaer entered into photo voltaic business, in the year 2007 entry into content and home entertainmenment and Foray into solid state, in 2009 Volume production of BDR/RE, in 2010 expand the business to capacity Ramp-up in crystalline cell and module productiuon , in 2012 the company was there with a new product led lightning. He also familier the students about how the company has transformed itself from a single business into a multi technology organization, diversifying into exciting areas of solar energy,Jewel Box, Flash Drive, home entertainment & IT peripherals & consumer electronics like LED Lightning. Companies like Thomson, Maxell, Panasonic, Philips, Soney, Kodak etc… are the OEM partners of Moserbaer, after the brief introduction of the company by Mr. Sudhanshu Pathak, DM – Training and Development (Factory Operations Manager). Students were taken around the plant Mr Brij Kishore Jaimni (Asstt manager- JB- Maintainance) explained about the production and operations process of  Moser Baer’s products – CD’s, DVD’s, Solid Storage Devices, Photovoltaic panels and home entertainment products and also gave the breif descreptions of what type of raw materials are used for production and production capacity per machines. Students also interacted with the staff of production plant of CD’s and DVD’s. He also showed the diffeent test like drop test tester, Colour Matching center etc done after the production of products. All the employees had to take lot of precautions while making CD’s and DVD’s to avoid any kind of damage to the product. Students were very excited and happy after the visit and meeting experienced people in business world.


Overall, it was a great learning experience in a company like Moser Baer where students could learn both about technical and management skills used by the company in there processes.
